IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria 2017

Here is the Eligibility Criteria for IBPS RRB Office Assistant & IBPS RRB Officer Scale 1 Exam 2017. You can go through the Educational Qualification as well as the age limit for which the students can apply under IBPS RRB 2017. As per official IBPS Calendar 2017, IBPS RRB exam for Officer Scale-I and Office Assistant is expected to be conducted in September this year.

Let us now have a look at the eligibility criteria of IBPS RRB 2017 for various posts. This eligibility criteria has been presented based on previous year’s notification and any relevant changes would be updated as soon as the official notification is out.

IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria 2017

Age-based Eligibility Criteria (Age Limit)

Age as on 01/09/2017, for various posts, should lie within the below-mentioned range-

  • Age-based eligibility criteria for Office Assistant –
    The minimum age for this post is 18 years and the maximum age is 28 years, i.e. the candidate shouldn’t have been born earlier than 02/09/1989 and not later than 01/09/1999, including both dates.
  • Age-based eligibility criteria for Officer Scale I –
    To apply for this post, the minimum age requirement is 18 years and the maximum is 30 years. This means that candidates born earlier than 03/09/1987 and later than 31/08/1999 are not eligible to apply. Both these dates are inclusive for age calculation.
  • Age-based eligibility criteria for Officer Scale II –
    Candidates with a minimum age of 21 years and a maximum of 32 years are eligible to apply for this post, i.e., candidate shouldn’t have been born earlier than 03/09/1985 and not later than 31/08/1996, where both dates are inclusive.
  • Age-based eligibility criteria for Officer Scale III –
    Minimum age requirement for this post is 21 years and the maximum is 40 years. This means that the candidate should have been born later than 03/09/1977 and earlier than 31/08/1996, including both these dates.

IBPS RRB Office Assistant (Multipurpose) –

  • Candidate should possess a degree from a recognized university or its equivalent as on above mentioned date.
  • He/ She should also be proficient in the official language of the state from which they are applying.
  • Proper knowledge of computer skills is also desirable.

IBPS RRB Officer Scale – I

  • Candidate should have a degree from a recognized university in any discipline. Equivalent preference will be given to candidates who possess a degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.
  • Proficiency in the local language of the participating RRB is also required.
  • Computer knowledge will be an added qualification.

IBPS RRB Officer Scale II (General Banking Officer) –

  • Candidate should possess degree in any discipline from a recognized university, with a minimum 50% aggregate marks.
  • Candidates having degree in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy will be given preference.
  • Candidate should also possess Work Experience of two years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

IBPS RRB Officer Scale II (Specialist Officer) –

  • Candidates having a degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks are eligible to apply.

PENALTY FOR WRONG ANSWERS

There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question.

PERSONAL INTERVIEW

Candidates who have been shortlisted in the examination for CWE- RRBs-IV will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted with the help of the designated Nodal Regional Rural Bank in each State/UT and coordinated by IBPS in consultation with the appropriate authority. Interviews will be conducted at select centres. The centre, address of the venue, time & date of Interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter. Candidates are required to download their interview call letters from authorised IBPS website www.ibps.in. Please note that any request regarding change in date, centre etc. of interview will not be entertained. However the conducting agencies reserve the right to change the date/ venue/ time/ centre etc. of interview or hold supplementary process for particular date / session / venue / centre / set of candidates at its discretion, under unforeseen circumstances, if any.

The proficiency in local language will be tested at the time of interview.

The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks / scores in interview and within it for local language proficiency will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST candidates). The minimum qualifying marks in interview for Officer Scale II and III will also be not less than 40% for all the candidates except 35% for SC / ST candidates. The relative weightage (ratio) of CWE and interview will be 70:30 respectively. The combined final score of candidates shall be arrived at on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in the Online Examination of CWE for RRBs-IV and Interview. Interview score of the candidates failing to secure minimum qualifying marks or otherwise barred from the interview or further process shall not be disclosed. A candidate should qualify both in the CWE and interview and be sufficiently high in the merit to be shortlisted for subsequent provisional allotment process.

Allotment

On completion of the interview process, depending on the vacancies to be filled in during the financial year 2015-16 based on the business needs of the Participating Organisations and as reported to IBPS, candidates shortlisted will be provisionally allotted to one of the Participating Organisations, based on merit-cum-preference keeping in view the spirit of Govt. Guidelines on reservation policy, various guidelines issued by Govt. of India/ Others from time to time, administrative exigency, etc.

In the event of two or more candidates having obtained the same score, merit order is decided as per date of birth (the candidate senior in age is placed before/ above the candidate junior in age), as per the prevailing practice.

IBPS RRB Selection Procedure – Officer Scale I

For the posts of Officers Scale I, the exam will be conducted in two tiers in September 2017 i.e. the online examination will be held in two phases, preliminary and main. Candidates who will apply for the post of Officers Scale I will have to qualify in prelims exam and will be shortlisted to appear for IBPS RRB Mains exam. The final shortlisted candidates in the IBPS RRB Mains exam will subsequently be called for a Common Interview to be coordinated by the Nodal Regional Rural Banks with the help of NABARD and IBPS in consultation with the appropriate authority.

For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question.

PERSONAL INTERVIEW

Candidates who have been shortlisted in the examination for CWE- RRBs-IV will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted with the help of the designated Nodal Regional Rural Bank in each State/UT and coordinated by IBPS in consultation with the appropriate authority. Interviews will be conducted at select centres. The centre, address of the venue, time & date of Interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter. Candidates are required to download their interview call letters from authorised IBPS website www.ibps.in. Please note that any request regarding change in date, centre etc. of interview will not be entertained. However the conducting agencies reserve the right to change the date/ venue/ time/ centre etc. of interview or hold supplementary process for particular date / session / venue / centre / set of candidates at its discretion, under unforeseen circumstances, if any.

The proficiency in local language will be tested at the time of interview.

The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks / scores in interview and within it for local language proficiency will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST candidates). The minimum qualifying marks in interview for Officer Scale II and III will also be not less than 40% for all the candidates except 35% for SC / ST candidates. The relative weightage (ratio) of CWE and interview will be 70:30 respectively. The combined final score of candidates shall be arrived at on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in the Online Examination of CWE for RRBs-IV and Interview. Interview score of the candidates failing to secure minimum qualifying marks or otherwise barred from the interview or further process shall not be disclosed. A candidate should qualify both in the CWE and interview and be sufficiently high in the merit to be shortlisted for subsequent provisional allotment process.

Allotment

On completion of the interview process, depending on the vacancies to be filled in during the financial year 2015-16 based on the business needs of the Participating Organisations and as reported to IBPS, candidates shortlisted will be provisionally allotted to one of the Participating Organisations, based on merit-cum-preference keeping in view the spirit of Govt. Guidelines on reservation policy, various guidelines issued by Govt. of India/ Others from time to time, administrative exigency, etc.

In the event of two or more candidates having obtained the same score, merit order is decided as per date of birth (the candidate senior in age is placed before/ above the candidate junior in age), as per the prevailing practice.
