Every year Institute of Banking Personnel Selection holds the IBPS PO Bank Exam to select Probationary Officers in Public Sector banks. Salary of IBPS PO

In the majority of the public sector banks, Salary of PO is more or less the same. The latest revision of Bank PO’s salary as per 10th Bipartite settlement, took place on Nov 2012; nonetheless the final agreement was signed in May 2015. According to which the revised salary of Bank PO will come into effect from 1st January 2016.

The revised basic pay of PO thus becomes –

23700 - (980 x 7) - 30560 - (1145 x 2) - 32850 - (1310 x 7) – 42020

Here Rs. 23700 is the revised basic pay of Bank PO as applicable on 1stJanuary 2016. Thus the new entrant in a Bank as PO is liable to get Rs. 23,700 as basic pay.
Rs. 980 is the annual increment that a Bank PO will get and it will be applicable for a period of 7 years.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria - 2019

Educational Qualification : The eligibility criteria for the IBPS CWE PO exam is Graduation Degree in any of the streams such as BA, B.Com, BSc, B.Tech, etc., from a University recognized by the Government of India. The percentage of marks obtained in Graduation should be mentioned at time of registration for the IBPS Bank-PO examination.

Computer Literacy: Knowledge of computer operation is a must as IBPS PO exam is conducted online.
 
Language Proficiency: Candidates should have verbal and written proficiency in official language of the State/UT. The candidate should be able to read, write and speak the language.

Nationality / Citizenship of Applicants:

Candidates applying for IBPS CWE/Bank PO Examination should be one of the following:

1. Citizen of India
2. Subject of Nepal or Bhutan
3. Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement
4. Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries of Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India
Candidates belonging to the category 2, 3, 4 must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Govt of India in their favour.

IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2019

In the last few years, the IBPS exam (CWE 7) for hiring candidates will be held online. The exam will be in two parts: Tier 1 or IBPS Preliminary Exam and Tier 2 or IBPS Mains Exam. This examination is followed by an interview but in this year a major change in the Mains Exam of  IBPS PO 2018.The Paper is same like SBI PO 2018, IBPS has added descriptive paper in its mains exam.

IBPS PO Prelims Exam Pattern

The IBPS PO preliminary examination is of one hour duration and is conducted online. It has 3 sections with having 100 questions in total with a maximum score of 100 marks. There is negative marking in IBPS PO pre exam as 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer. Candidates must clear the sectional cut-off to qualify for the IBPS PO Main exam. IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern

This year the exam pattern of IBPS Mains is changed. IBPS has added descriptive paper in its mains exam The IBPO PO Main exam is also held online, it has 4 sections having a total score of 200 marks of 180 minutes duration and descriptive paper 1 sections having a total score of 25 marks of 30 minutes duration.
The IBPS exam will have 5 sections and the time limit for attempting each of the five sections is different, but the total time duration is 180 minutes for objective and 30 minutes for descriptive. The candidates must attempt the sections in the same order and within the allotted time fixed by the examining body. The candidate can’t leave the existing section before the time allotted. The next section can only be attempted after the current section is completed. There is a negative marking with a deduction of 0.25 marks for every mistake.

IBPS Probationary Officers (PO) Pre-Exam Training 2019

As per our expectation The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will hold pre-exam training from September . It has also released the call letters for Probationary Officer (PO)/management trainees CWE PO/MT VII. One can download from the official website of IBPS

There will be a pre-exam training at various test centers across the country which will be held from september to october.

Who can attend Pre-examination training and how?

Pre-examination training is arranged by the Nodal Banks or Participating organizations for a limited number of aspirants who belong to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes/Minority Communities at select centers. Expenses such as traveling, boarding, lodging, etc have to be borne by the aspirants who are attending this training.

IBPS PO Interview

The candidates who have qualified the mains exam will be called for an interview which will carry 100 marks. To qualify for the interview a candidate is required to score 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).

The interview round is conducted for not less than 15-20 minutes. It has a panel of bank officials who will raise questions to the candidates concerned themselves, banking sector, current affairs, general awareness, etc. The candidates must be well-dressed, confident and carry all required documents to the interview.
The merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in main examination and interview. IBPS work out final score with the weightage of marks given to the main examination and interview in the ratio of 80:20 respectively.

Selection Criteria

Final Score Calculation for IBPS PO Exam

There are certain important points on the basis of which the final score for the IBPS PO exam is calculated:
• Marks scored in the Preliminary Exam (Tier-1) will not be considered in the final score. These are only taken into account to qualify Mains Exam (Tier-2).
• Candidates need to qualify Phase-2 and Interview individually to be eligible for final worth.
• The ratio of marks between CWE Main exam and interview for final merit list will be 80:20 respectively.
• The aggregate of 100 marks is used for the final merit list for each category. Candidates with high merit rank in each category are finally selected.


Penalty for Wrong Answers

A penalty for every incorrect answer will be marked in the Objective Tests of both Preliminary and Mains exams. Every wrong answer will be penalized by deducting 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question. There will be no penalty for leaving a question blank, i.e. in case no answer is marked by the candidate.

IBPS PO Prelims 2018 RESULT OUT!!!

IBPS has announced IBPS PO Prelims 2019 result which is available at the official website ibps.in Candidates who appeared in the IBPS PO Prelims 2018 Exam can check their result which will be available on the website till 7th November 2018. The link for checking the status of the result is given below:

IBPS has announced IBPS PO Prelims 2018 result on 31st October. It was conducted on 13 and 14 October 2019.  To check the result candidates need to have the registration number to see the result. The scores of the examination will be released shortly, only status of the exam is available at the given link. Those who have qualified the first phase i.e. prelims exam are eligible to appear in the IBPS PO Mains 2019 which will be held on November 18, 2019.

IBPS PO Exam Centre

The IBPS PO exam (CWE) is held online at various centres all over India and the candidates can mention their options at the time of filling in the online application. Though there is non-availability of seats at preferred venues yet IBPS allots an exam centre other than the choices made by a candidate. 

IBPS is the only authority to add or remove an exam centrThe candidates can’t make any request for the change of the exam centre. Any indecent behaviour at the examination centre can lead to cancellation of the application.

IBPS PO FAQs

  • Is the IBPS PO exam Bilingual?
              All tests conducted by IBPS are bilingual, i.e. available in both English and Hindi
  • Is there Negative Marking?
             For every wrong answer, there is negative marking in the objective tests of both Preliminary and Mains Exam of IBPS PO 2018. One fourth of the total               marks allotted for that question will be deducted for marking a wrong answer.
  • Are there fixed timings for different sections?
             Not in Prelims, yes in Mains

The first phase of IBPS PO Prelims 2017 was conducted on 7th and 8th October 2019. It was held at All India level. IBPS PO Prelims: English Language Section Analysis (Moderate- Difficult)

English language section was from Moderate to difficult. Reading comprehension included the topics related to Economics. Spot the error questions were difficult and they were asked in a different pattern. Most of the questions were based on Subject Verb agreement rule.

Quantitative Aptitude Section Analysis

The pattern of Quantitative Aptitude section was same in two shifts and there were some variations in the other two shifts. There were number series questions instead of quadratic equations and the level was moderate. If you are preparing for the bank exams then it is better to devote more time in calculation. Build speed so that you calculate quickly. It had only 2 sets of DI. There was one question based on line chart and the other one was on tabular form. The level was from easy to moderate.

Questions in reasoning section in all the shifts were of the same pattern except for the one which had a very little variation. Puzzles and seating arrangement questions were more in fourth shift. Other shifts hadThere were a total of 25 questions based on puzzle and seating arrangement in the fourth shift.
