To apply for the HPPSC HPAS Recruitment 2025, candidates must meet specific educational and age requirements. The eligibility details are as follows:
Educational Qualification:

- Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent from a recognized university.
- Candidates appearing for their final degree examination (result pending) or intending to appear may apply provisionally, provided they complete the exam before the HPAS examination begins. Proof of passing must be submitted within two months of the exam start date.
- For MBBS or equivalent medical qualifications, candidates who have passed but not completed their internship can apply provisionally, submitting proof of passing the final professional exam. They must provide completion certificates (including internship) at the personality test stage.
Age Limit: Candidates must be between 21 and 35 years as of January 1, 2025.

HPAS Selection Process
The HPPSC HPAS Recruitment 2025 follows a structured selection process to ensure merit-based recruitment. The stages are:

- Preliminary Examination: Two objective papers (General Studies and Aptitude Test, 200 marks each). The attitude Test is qualifying (minimum 33% marks), and merit is based on General Studies. Negative marking applies (1/3rd mark deducted per wrong answer).
- Main Examination: Includes compulsory papers (English, Hindi, Essay, General Studies I-III) and one optional subject (two papers). Candidates need 40% in English and Hindi and 45% aggregate in other papers (excluding English/Hindi) to qualify.
- Personality Test: Assesses intellectual qualities, social traits, and suitability for service, with marks contributing to the final merit along with the Main Examination.

HPAS Prelims Exam Pattern
It consisting of 2 papers based on objective type questions will be held. The duration of Papers I (General Studies) and II (Aptitude Test) is two hours each. Both Paper I and Paper II shall be of 200 marks, and there shall be 100 multiple-choice questions.

HPAS Main Exam Pattern
The candidate shall specify in his/her application form the optional subject he/she desires to take. He /She may intimate any change of his/her intention to the Secretary, Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, not later than the last date prescribed for the receipt of the Application. A candidate shall answer the Optional Paper in English or Hindi as per his/her option.

HPAS Preliminary Exam
Initially, a Preliminary examination consisting of 02 papers based on objective-type (multiple-choice) questions on the following pattern will be held. Qualified candidates in the Prelims examination only proceed or are eligible for appearing in the Main Examination.
HPAS Main Written Exam
The candidates declared qualified in the Preliminary examination will be entitled to admission to the Main written examination if otherwise found eligible. The number of candidates to be called for the Main written examination will be about 20 times the total number of vacancies to be filled in based on the aforementioned examination.
No candidate shall be considered to have qualified for the written examination unless he obtains at least 40% marks in Hindi and English (Compulsory Papers) and 45% marks in the aggregate. The marks obtained in English and Hindi (Compulsory Papers) will not be counted for tanking, though it would be necessary for the candidates to secure a minimum of 40% marks in each of these papers to qualify.
The candidates who qualify for the main examination will have to download the call letter for the interview. No separate call letters will be sent for the Main examination.
